Despite the fact that grain offer for transportation ex Russian shallow-water ports is growing very slowly, rates continue climbing up. This is primarily referred to the shortage of sea-river vessels open in spot positions (due in part to the fact that many ships got stuck in Turkish ports given long holidays in the country):
At present, most charterers offer $33/t for transportation of 3,000 t of grain from Rostov/Azov to the Marmara Sea, while owners are seeking to get at least $3/t ($36-38/t in most cases). Note that late last week traders were able to fix spot vessels at $32-33/t;
The deal for shipment of 3,000 t of wheat from Rostov to the Marmara Sea has been signed at $35/t;
Charterers are ready to pay $50/t for transportation of 3-5,000 t of grain from Azov/Rostov to the Adriatic Sea, while owners want to get low-mid $50s/t;
3,000 t of grain are carried from Azov to eastern Greece at $38/t;
The contract for shipment of 5,000 t of wheat from Taganrog to Mersin is discussed at $46-47/t;
Traders are ready to pay within $13-14/t bss free DA bends for transportation from Rostov to the Kavkaz OPL.
Traffic of coal and steel scrap remains modest:
Most charterers are ready to pay within $28-29/t for shipment of 3,000 t of coal from Rostov to TBS, while owners have managed to get $30/t for transportation to Constanta;
Carrying 3,000 t of steel scrap from Rostov to the Marmara Sea is estimated by ISM at low-mid $40s/t.
